Announcing the Machinima Filmfest 2008 Nominees!

Head over to the Nominees page now to have a look at the five films in each of our 15 categories that compete for this year’s Mackies, making for a total of 35 nominated films!

The general quality of submissions was so high this year that the Selection Committee chose to give out 15 additional Honorary Mentions! They are given to one film in each category that didn’t make it to the Nominations but showcases outstanding filmmaking in that particular category.

After reviewing the submissions we got for the “Best Game Company Machinima”, we decided to change the format for that category. Given the diversity of the entries we got, we decided that instead of selecting 5 nominees that differ largely in length and scope, we give out an Honorary “Outstanding Achievement in Game Cinematics” Award that highlights one particular production that came out this past year. This Award will be given out at the official Awards Ceremony along with the other Mackies.
